We acknowledge Te Tiriti as the founding document of Aotearoa / New Zealand. We acknowledge the impact of colonisation, past and present, on whānau, hapū and iwi.
We are committed to ensuring all work we undertake contributes to Tino Rangatiratanga and mana motuhake of whānau, hapū and iwi. Our commitment is supported by working in partnership with Māori researchers, evaluators, and leaders.
We are committed to the ongoing development and normalisation of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori. Working with our Māori partners, our practice harnesses Mātauranga Māori and Western Science.
We acknowledge the commonalities and diversity of Pacific nations and also recognise the differences between Pacific nations and other ethnic groups.
We actively seek opportunities to lead inclusion and diversity by engaging with communities to bring diverse perspectives into projects.
We are committed to providing an equitable work environment where our people are encouraged to be themselves and where identity, background and experience are valued.
Establishing a research and evaluation centre led by ethnic communities in Aotearoa reflects communities’ lived experiences and expertise. We were privileged to support and mentor researchers from ethnic communities to gather community perspectives on establishing a sustainable and independent ethnic research and evaluation centre.
Women judges in Afghanistan face danger on several fronts, including revenge attacks from individuals they sentenced for crimes such as domestic violence, who have now been released from prison by the Taliban. We gave surge capacity to the International Association of Women Judges to help their Afghan counterparts provide safe passage and refuge. We used our research skills to compile documents and paperwork to support this humanitarian evacuation effort.
We are committed to reducing the impact of our organisation’s footprint. We extensively use online video meeting software and online collaboration tools. If flying is unavoidable, we offset flight emissions. When travelling, we support locally-owned accommodation, cafes and restaurants that adopt sustainable practices and support the local economy. We maintain a paperless office as much as possible, avoid plastics, and promote energy-saving measures.
