Liz believes in equity and the difference it makes to people’s lives. Her work gives voice to people to ensure changes meet the needs of those it is designed to help. Liz values that the work she’s involved in with different communities ensures that policies deliver on their promise.
“The research work we do changes you.” She feels privileged to work on important social, economic and environmental issues with Māori, Pasifika, and other communities – work grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Perseverance and the need to get the job done are carefully balanced with an openness to different perspectives and experiences.
Liz loves to see the team thrive, develop and grow, as individuals and as a team. The work we do is as good as that done anywhere in the world. Our work is in uncovering evidence, but we do it with empathy.
Outside of work, Liz can be spotted walking the rugged south coast hills with her dog.
